Path, The Newest Rival To Facebook

We all know the Facebook is a juggernaut of a business that isn't slowing down anytime soon. However, the big news making the rounds today has to do with a new competitor to the King of Social Networks.



Path is a new social network with different features than your trusty Facebook profile. To start, Path is going to limit the number of friends on your profile to just 50!

By keeping the number of users that can access your Path profile, the company is hoping that users will voluntarily submit a freaky amount of personal information. In order to create a Path account, potential Path users will have to submit their phone numbers.

Another interesting feature, Path also reports on your location and lets you see who has been viewing your photos.

A number of people, of course, will question the ability of ANY new company to compete with Facebook. This article here explores the ways Path could be successful.

All in all, the world could probably use another social networking site that doesn't suck, so maybe Path is it.
